Great for practiceApr 07, 2010

This practice skin is great for practicing giving tattoos. The only complaint that I would have is that there are no instructions for using it, which shouldn't be a big problem for anyone who knows how to do tattoos. I recommend the following: 1) Use double-sided tape to fasten the practice skin firmly to a solid surface (preferrably one that you don't mind ruining with tape or with punctures). If you don't secure the skin to the surface, the needles from the tattoo machine will make the skin bounce and your tattoos will be really sloppy. 2) Before applying a stencil or beginning to tattoo, use a very light coat of Vasoline on top of the practice skin and regularly wipe the surface during the process, re-applying a very light coat of Vasoline to the surface after each cleaning. This will keep the ink from smudging and smearing on the surface as you tattoo. You can also use 409 and paper towels to wipe down the skins when you're finished to remove the excess ink on the surface.
